January 2017 - Our winning charity was REDEEMING JOY, a transformational program that offers sustainable freedoms to women over the age of 18 that have survived human trafficking.

They provide holistic and trauma informed services in a safe environment to help bring healing to the complex hurts of those sexually exploited. They have a home that we can serve 10-12 ladies as residents and a location that can offer services to more in the community. Currently they are offering their services to those who are trying to exit the life of exploitation, and they also empower the community to put their compassion into action by providing awareness and training.

The ladies served are referred by the FBI and other local services within Mecklenburg County.

March 2016 ~ Our winning charity was PROJECT 2 HEAL, whose mission is to breed, nurture and train Labrador Retrievers to provide healing for those with physical and emotional challenges. The other two charities discussed were Fashion & Compassion and ASPCA. We had a wonderful meeting, and after a short break we look forward to our December 1, 2016 meeting.

December 2015 ~ This quarter's winning charity was MATTHEWS HELP CENTER (www.matthewshelpcenter.org), a thriving and growing organization, serving an average of over 490 families per month.  They offer an array of programs and services including crisis assistance, community connections, seasonal programs, and financial planning.

September 2015 ~ Our winning charity for the quarter was SHE IS SAFE (https://sheissafe.org), an organization that works to prevent, rescue and restore women and girls from abuse and exploitation in high risk places around the world, equipping them to build a life of freedom, faith and a strong future.

June 2015 ~ At our second meeting, the winning charity was BRIGHT BLESSINGS, a volunteer-led, 501c3 nonprofit organization serving the greater Charlotte region.  Thanks to the helping hands and hearts of their volunteers and supporters, the programs of Bright Blessings bring joy, care and hope to over 4,000 homeless and impoverished children every year.

With 100 Women Who Care-Charlotte growing organically and purposefully, we were able to donate $1,000 to this amazing charity.

2015 March ~ Our inaugral meeting.  Six of the seven founding members met at THE VINTNER and had a wonderful time getting to know each other and choosing our first charity recipient.... CORE COMPASSION PROJECT.

Core Compassion Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering Pilates scholarships to cancer patients in order to reduce the side effects of cancer treatment. Specialized Pilates fitness training helps to restore physical strength and mental well- being. Our program is designed for those with cancer to help ease the transition from treatment to returning to post-treatment daily life. The biggest issue faced by most cancer survivors is fatigue both during and after cancer treatment. Radiation and chemotherapy can cause one to feel tired and unable to perform daily activities. Pilates offers strength, self-esteem and quality of life to survivors. Focus is on quality of movement rather than quantity.
